brembo discountinued pads for my kit... wtf

I bought new rotors and pads for the e46 12.6" brembo brakes... and the distributor sends me these knock-off pads, with no markings on it. they charged me like 200+ for them too... I figured, why not, so I got eveything installed, got them burnished and eveything, a week later they still perform like crap... no bite, nothing.. my mom'm buick stops better, i swear.

I called them back, and they tell me brembo stopped shipping the old pads, because they had problems with them, and they replaced them with these low-dust crappy pads... Funny thing is that the markings on the back (part#, brand, etc) were all wiped off with alcohol.

Indeed, there is no dust.. the rear wheels (original brakes) are covers in dust, and the front are sqeaky clean even after a week of driving. I'm thinking I should call brembo and confirm. I did have some major problems with the previous rotors and/or pads, steering wheel was vibrating outta control, but, still, they perform very poorly for the money they cost. Might as well go back to oem.

any feedback from you big-brake fellow addicts would be greatly appreciated.

Get yourself some Hawk HPS pads.

I think the ones they sent me are hps, but i can't really tell, 'cause they erased the markings on the back

I think you should call again. Looks like they shipped you inferior pads because they had none of the other ones in stock.
