| I dont know about your state but in MD it must be on the bumper because. a. thats where they aim the laser guns b. it could easilly hurt you or a passenger if inside the passenger compartment in accident. (picture sharp, flat, metal object cutting your head off) c. criminal put plates on the window, commit a crime, and put a different plate there, all without having to exit car and unscrew plates. d. obstructs view (not much but still) No front plate looks better but putting it in your windshield just attracts even more attention. Hey look at me, my plate is in my windshield and not on my bumper. If its just missing they might just not see it, but if its in your window they'll probably notice. Plus IMO it looks 10 times worse in your window than on your bumper. Last edited by Blackwidow : 08-23-2004 at 09:42 AM. |

| I agree that it looks worse in the window, this happened in my beater prelude, the bmw is in the shop, had a little accident. it is my first offense though so i hope i can either get it thrown out or at least get it off my record, thanks for the info though. |

| Just pay the ticket, its only $50, dont bother going to court and getting it thrown out. Unless its a point ticket... Anyway, i got about 5-10 of these tickets in my previous cars, so i just stopped putting a plate on my car completley. Ironically, i never get pulled over for it now that its not visable at all ![]()

| As far as I know, it IS illegal in MN to have it in the windshield. On that note, I've been rolling around with only a rear plate on the e30 for 3 months now with no problems.

| i dont know about there but they normaly are strict here about having one though. although afterwe got our car, we didnt get regular plates for some reason, we left the dealer tags on it for about 3 1/2 months with out getting pulled over once, and no front plate and the dealer paper plate was in the back window. never got pulled for it though
