bimmer opinion

i got $13000 for a new car and i want a bimmer. i was wondering if u guys could help me pick 1. I want an E36. M3 would be really nice but i want a car w/ under about 80,000 mi and that might make it hard to find an M3. Maybe i could get a 328i for cheaper and maybe put some mods in it. Wat do u guys think

With $13k you have a good amount to work with. I would look for either a 95' M3 with higher mileage (look for service records) or as you said a 328 in great condition. Make sure you have some money left over for insurance and repair and maintenance costs. Also modifying a BMW will cost much more than other non-euros.

i would save up an extra $1k or 2 for an m3. Or if you want, get an e30 m3...

There is a 95 dakar M3 with black interior in Lynnfield, MA available on Rt1 Auto Brokers. I looked at it the other day, couple paint chips on the hood and side, and the interior needed some TLC. Dealer wants 16.9, although Im sure he'd be willing to make a deal. Acutally, I just looked it on autotrader.com, and it looks like he has already dropped the price to $15,890 from $16,900 last week...might be worth it to take a drive.

I would recommend you get an M3, if you want performance.

just find a high-quality 328iS and get a couple mods and you have almost M3 performance. ALMOST don't flame bastards.

omg your so freakin stupid andre...

You can find a 325 with really high mileage or no engine and drop in an S52 (3.2L M3 Engine). You'll have about 260-270 hp and insurance wont be as high.
