shipping cars cross country

any suggestions on what company to go with? I have tried 6 or 7 different people and havnt found anything for under 800 bucks to ship an sudi s4 from LA to DC. I also heard that the price depends on the type of car being shipped, not how far it has to go. that true?

I recently had an A4 1.8T shipped from San Diego to CT. and I used AAAutotransport. It was an absolute nightmare! It cost me about $850 and took almost a month to get the car to me. The customer service reps were rude and unprofessional. After my experience I would never have a car transported again. If you want something done right...do it yourself.
