| 318ti Questions Hi everybody, I'm new to the site and the BMW world, so forgive my ignorance. I am looking into purchasing a 1995 BMW 318ti. Before i purchase, however, I'd like to ask a few questions. Are these cars reliable? Do they have any major mechanical/electrical issues? How do they handle high mileage? What would be required on a 318ti with, say, 100,000 miles? Any answers, advice or stories are much appreciated. Thanks everybody, Tyler |

| the only problem these engines have is the profile gasket you will know when it goes because it will look like the ac compressor is leaking antifreeze. My 92 318is has 180k on it and it sees dialy service and track time when I can manage to squeeze it in |

| Thank you to everybody that has replied. I appreciate the info. The 318ti i am looking at looks to be in very pristine condition. It does have over 100,000 miles, but looks very well kept. I know the 318 may be slow compared to an m3, but the 130hp 4 cylinder in the car should suit my needs perfectly. If anybody else has any info or advice, keep it coming. Thanks again. >Tyler |

| I've got over 104k miles on mine now and had it since 50k. So far it's been a great car that has required minimal maintenence. Some things I like about it: -Hatchback - Tons of storage space! I've moved out of an apartment from Chicago to Detroit with it in one trip. -Gas Mileage - I usually get 420 miles to a tank of gas, which works out to around 30 mpg. -Fun to drive - As long as you get a manual it's always fun to drive. It's relatively light weight and handles very well. Sometimes I find myself driving the car for absolutely no reason even after 3 years of ownership. I'd recommend getting the sport package. That way you get all of the M3 bodywork from the start with decent looking 16" wheels.
