Goodbye CSL

BMW has terminated the production of the BMW M3 CSL with about 1400 units produced in total. BMW says it wants to make room to the production off the 1er.

Too bad we r not ganna see any new CSLs. However, the good thing, is that the car is a rare exotic.

It's good that they are making less units of the car because the people that already own them can be more proud. When they drive the CSL on the road, they know that they are driving a rare car and not many people have them.

Same thing with the Ferrari 360 Modena Coupe and the limited edition Challenge Stradale. Although the 360 Modena is already a rare car to see on the road.

Yes good point M5Power, i beleive that has been the tradition of BMW M to create rare powerful and beautiful cars. That applies to the CSL, but i am afraid it wouldnt be applied to the standard E46 M3s. I Think the number will exceed the 70000 E36 M3 (which i beleive is big and is a mistake).

Until I start seeing more BMW owners tracking their cars and not babying them with silly angel eye mods and eye brows, I'm not going to give BMW any flack for what they're doing. If you want a CSL, go buy a M3 and replace the seats, hood, boot, etc yourself. Put a Delage airbox and you'll have a faster car for less money.

The BMW community as a whole is pretty limp when it comes to performance driving. On the other hand, of the 4 people I know personally who own Porsches, all of them have more than one Porsche and track at least one of them.

It's not like you can have a track competitive model out of the box from any company (short of the GT2, GT3, and 360 Stradale).
