What scan tool is the best?

I am looking for a scan tool for my 96 328i. I have searched for quite a while and found a couple that are recommended for bimmers. One is a PC based program that simpily link to the car called AutoEnginuity @ http://www.autoenginuity.com . The other is the Peake scanner and reset tool that can be found here: http://www.peakeresearch.com/products.htm .

These are just the ones that I have found. Can someone lead me in the right direction? I am trying to keep it cheap but still have full functionality...

well it depends on what u want. the peake research one just does faults inspections and oil changes, the other one does tests and stuff but the ? is are you willing to pay an extra 100 bucks for the testin capabilties for the autoenginuity.

I have the Peake and it works well. It will tell me any codes and resets all 4 of the major fault functions (oil, service, inspection, check engine). Can't see a need for more.
