95 M3 Cam Kit Upgrade Qs

Ok, so I am thinking of getting a cam kit for a 95 3.0 M3

i found this: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...E36M3HFMCAMKIT

Does anyone have it or something similar? Does it really give around 254rwhp? How much trq?

Around how much hp/tq can i expect with an AA Gen3 exhuast or a Supersprint exhuast?

Installation is not a big problem. I can install everything except the cams.

Thanks in advance

- Gary

I have it on my car, definitely THE best upgrade I've done to date. It completely transforms your car, sounds and feels great.

You can expect a good 20+HP/TQ to the wheels.

My dyno is on my sig if you wanna see it.

BTW, the installation is crucial, make sure you take it to someone who has done SCHRICK cams before.

Nope! You would think so, too, but it just isn't so. I went up against a stock E46 M3 in a friends OBDI 3.2L Chuck-Stickley built 257 whp E36 M3/4 WITH an upgraded 3.46 differential and I got walked every time. The E46's combo of 3.64 final drive, 6 speed, and the fact that it builds power all the way to redline are just too much for non-FI E36 M3s. :/

Of course, this is just my experience, individual mileage will vary.

No kidding. The kit is only worth it if you are of the mindset that you want to substantially increase the power and performance of your 95 M3.

I have found on SEVERAL against different e46 M3's that I am as fast if not faster than e46 M3's. I have NEVER lost to a realatively stock e46 M3. (the only time I have lost is against my friend who now puts down 305 rwhp in his e46. I ALWAYS used to pull very slightly on him before he did a bunch of stuff) Even now he only pulls slightly on me. I also have an avg. of 12% leak down loss on every cyl. too.

CMT - I believe you just don't know why you would get walked??? Esp. with the 3.46. (I am running a 3.38) Don't know what your dyno graph looks like but maybe stickly isn't all he is cracked up to be... JK!!!

Now I don't know how it would be with a 3.0 as I have the extra tq of the 3.2 but you will LOVE the kit IMO. I wanted to stay NA and IMO this is the way to go. You won't smoke e46 m3's as you would need 350+ hp to do that which only comes from FI. (for a street driven car)

The E46 I raced put down 290 whp to the E36's 257 whp. Not only did the car lose, but it just didn't stand a chance, blasting by me by the end of whatever gear we would start in. It was on the street, and of course anything can happen, and there is also the factor that 1. I can't drive worth a damn (which in this case meant slamming the accelerator down as we went from a roll) or 2. I was up against a very agressive driver in the E46 (which was extremely true) or 3. Maybe Stickley isn't all he is cracked up to be, but the dyno would have shown that, no? 257 whp is nothing to sneeze at on an E36, and that night it wasn't even close to being powerful enough to match the current M3.

I also will not discount that something was wrong with the car the night we got it on. It still blows me away that the E36 was dispatched that easily - it really wasn't a contest, a result that was completely outside of my expectations.

CMT - Something does sound wrong with the e36. When I raced Beavis on BF's for the first time he had put down 278 peak hp on a dynojet while I did 253 on the same dynojet same day. Since then Beavis has done mods and put down 305 (IIRC) and I have shown 264 with some mods done too. He now slightly pulls on me. Not even close to pulling hard tho.

With regard to Stickly I was only kidding It could be that I have a good amount more tq up top than your friend but I doubt that.
