Hey everyone, i'm new to the board and I am looking to buy a 740 il in the near future, probably the end of this year and I was wondering if anyone can give me some buy tips. This will be my first BMW, so I will need some help.

go with a 96+, bigger engine than 95's and the gas doesnt eat through the enginewalls. sport package would be nice on a fairly new 740

check the serial nuber on the side panels, it shoudl be on the edging if you pop the hood. make sure all panels have stock codes, and not replacements.

Do you know the HP rating on these? I was talking to my friend and he said I should do an H swap, he said it would give me crazy horses @ the wheel.
