can someone help me with this? car stalls

HELP PLEASE!! I have a 93 325is with a slushbox. Here's the problem. the car just dies whenever it wants, but it restarts immediately, BUT the rpms shoot up to 4k and just sits there.I have to stop and restart many many times before the rpms will go back down. I have so far replaced the MAF, the ICV and the Plugs and still its dying ARRRR!!!! Another thing I have noticed, when it does stall the RPM(tach) needle jumps over 7k and the engine dies, (the actual engine speed doesnt jump). I am so confused and lost. the car has been at stealership and they charged me 3 hours of labor and can't see anything wrong with the car and the car is now at my local mechanic for 2 days now with no luck. Much help is needed.

Could it be an EWS issue or is it possible you have the wrong ECU? You swapped this motor right? I think some people are meeting at my house tomorrow to work on cars, and if it is driveable, we could look at it. Let me know more about the car.

Go buy some "Gum Cutter" or "Carb Cleaner". Start the car and let it warm up. Then spray all the intake fittings, manifold, and vacuum fittings down. Be methodical and spray one area at a time. You may have a vacuum leak. If the RPMS rise slightly when spraying a certain area you have a leak. Visually unspect the area and try to seal it with new parts or tightening of the clamps.
