Importing a euro car

whats the deal with trying to import a car like say a 98 e36 m3 from europe to the US? Does anyone know where i could find this, price, and all of the red tape/bullshit i would have to go through

You might want to do a SEARCH also, it seems that the s50b32 (1996-1999 euro m3 motor if I'm not mistaken) needs little things like valve adjustments and a mechanic ... just some things to think about before going ahead with an import like this

You will pay as much as a new one costs to "Federalize" a euro spec car.

It's all about the power of the Euro E36 M3 motor right? Just search the Euro market for the motor you want and buy a US spec car with a blown motor to dump it into. Shipping parts(the engine and ECU) for "Race Use only" gets it all over here without too much red tape.


Now getting it running right, and getting an inspection sticker? Well, that's the fun and price of Euro importing.
