new cruse control and radar detectors

OK so i know top end benz and maby BMWs have an option of a smart CC, it uses radar to monotor trafic, it can speed up and even apply a little brake. what i was wondering is, if this catches on will radar detectors become useless? wouldnt they go off every time you are around one of these?

Different frequency than radar detectors look for.

what a bout the ones that run off of laser, like the new Lexus RX330's laser guided cc system? Any word on if a v1 will pick it up?

Went out the other day with a SL 55 and the smart CC is so hot.....just set it and the car in front of you brakes hard....so does your car automaticly....so fricking hot shiiiiiit

the laser on my v1 goes off when im behind a tralblazer/envoy when they brake, the third braking light is an LED and it sets it off, scared the shit out of me the first few times

We are talking about the new systems which use a radar within the front grill of the car that monitors the distance of the car in front of you and slows down when they do or speeds up to the set speed when they move out of the way. All of this is done automatically by the car without any driver input.

Also, I've heard infinity rushed their system to catch up to the compitetors and aparently it isn't aimed very well. It has a tendency to read cars comming in the opposite direction and slam on the brakes. Doesn't sound very safe to me.

does anyone know if the lazer aims itself sorta like the new lexus headlights. that might cause problems with auto cc around turns if it doesnt .

LEXUS IS REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME OFF. they are steeling every other manufacturer's stuff. I didn't even know that they stole the headlights till you said that. Lexus, be creative, STOP STEELING!!
