this is the email i got from a guy selling an Alpine M3 for 12,000 dollars shipped smells way fishy. It was fully decked out silver fiber glass system in the trunk and a supercharger under the hood that hooked up about 450 hp. I dunno looks like a scam to me

First of all I want you to know that my item is no longer on Ebay but you have nothing to worry about. The deal is on and I will explain you why that happened: Ebay found out that I've sold one of my product on my own and that is against their rules. So they closed the auction. But I assure you that it has nothing to do with our deal: we can close it outside ebay.
I want to tell you a few words about the car.
It is in imaculate condition and has no schrach on and hasn't been involved in any accident.
The motor run very well. The title is clear ,it is not a salvage one.
The car belongs to my brother.He died last week in a bike accident.
The car is now in Italy as my brother lived there.I am willing to sell it and shipp it to any of the UE countries or to US.I will not ship to any African,Asian or Eastern European countries.
I know that the price is low but i have not use for the car and I want to get back home as soon as i sell it.
The price I hope to obtain is 12,000.00USD (this price includes the shipping to your city and insurance) and if you agree with this price we can start to complete the transaction.As i've told you,in order to proceed with the deal i need a deposit of 3,000.00$.The payment must be done using a money order service.
I prefer money order because in this way i will ship the car in the same day you make the payment.
I have made some reaseach myself because in the position i am i have to make all very good so that i can get my money realy fast and make the paymens I have too.
You will arrange payment through western union and after you will receive and inspect the machine you have to send me the rest of the money.The inspection period for it is 15 days.
You will have to make a deposit of 3,000$ . You will have to go personal to an western union office with the cash and send the money (the deposit of 3,000$
USD) from your name and address to WATH NAME DO YOU WANT (FOR YOUR SIGURANCE).I WILL NEVER CAN'T TUCH THE MONEY IN THIS WAY ONLY AFTER YOU WILL RECEIVED THE CAR AND YOU WILL INSPECT IT YOU CAN CHANGE THE RECEIVER NAME WITH MY NAME.
The transfer only need to be here in Italy for i can be avaible to check at my WU agent that you really have the money for this great car .in this case the
money is deposited in westernunion on my adress but on your friend name.
I will ship the car as a gift for my best friend so you will not have to pay any custom taxes and I hope you will do the same thing when you will make the
transfer because this way we will not have to pay any other taxes.
After you will make the transfer you will email me the details:
-the sender name
-the sender address
-the amount
-the confirmation #-MTCN (money transfer control number)
-the receiver name, that you choose to be and the adress.
With all this informations i will be able to check the payment and after i will see that it is OK i will send the car right away
and you will receive it in 10 days at your door (if not less).
If you agree with all this terms please email me back,if not don't do this.

Yeah don't do it man. Just stay away. My father in-law found a deal similar to that one on ebay. It was for a 2002 convertible yellow M3 that was selling for $12000 also. Then after he won the auction with "buy it now" he found out that the car was from Italy and that is would have to be shipped to California. The seller wanted him to put down as $2000 deposit and that he/she would ship it, and when it arrives he can inspect it at the docs where it arrives, and purchase it if he wanted. So that was the scam, line up a bunch of people get them to pay the deposits and then nothing arrives, it's all a scam. If you really want to see if it's legit find some way to actually see the car without really having to fork over any money.

You know what I thought would be even more funny is if some people did pay the deposit and when the vehicle did arrive it was really some scale model of the same car, haha that would kind of be funny in a twisted sort of way. Just remember if seems like it's too good to be true, it usually is.

the 'Alpine M3' is an ex-show car and is listed in autotrader for $40K, it is located here in the US.

check this out its probably a similiar deal..an evo for 10g but the guy lives in italy and he would pay shipment and it was made for american market..clean title and all

If it looks fishy JUST DON'T DO IT. Its generally not worth the risk involved.

hey my brother talked to the same guy like a 4 months ago, im pretty sure its a scam, he'll probly keep your deposit, and since he's apparently in italy theres not much you could do.
