| Any info. on the next Gen. M3 Motor? Is there any info on the next gen M3 motor? I know its pretty far off. Still, I would like to know what there is. They say its going to be a V8, right? But most likely not an S62, (although as far as I know they are projecting the same hp rating) I'm sure they want to update the technology and efficiencies. But what sort of specs does it have? Deminsions of the engine? And power output? I have heard 400 hp, but what about torque? Is this just too far into the future yet or does anyon have some insight into this?

| Well I don't think they will put more power into the M3 than the M5 (being their M flagship and all.) But that still leaves plenty of room.

| The M5 is going up to 550hp with the V10. BMW MAY switch to the V8 but year before last when there was talk about killing the inline 6 after concerns of reliability of the S54 the overwhelming response was "This was a technical glitch and, dont worry, there is still plenty of power to be had from the existing inline 6 to power BMW for years to come." |

| 500HP for the M5 (and that's the word from BMW reps at Geneva). As for the M3... 400HP would put it right around the Modena 360 and 911TT. I'd say that's a pretty safe number to assume. As for type of engine... They still want to stick to the higher revving engines. So, a small V8 would be the way to go... -Prince |
