angel eyes

I have a question about angel eyes. I've got a 2002 325i and it has just stock regular headlights, not even bi-xenons. I've seem a lot of of E46's with colored angel eyes, the ring part of the angel eyes. I don't know if it's just bulbs or what it is, if it's a completely custom headlight assembly. I was wondering if I could get some sites and more info on this.
