| Question about Catalytic Converters I was thining about taking off my Catalytic Converters and just puting a straightpipe to my exhaust and i was wondering if that could mess up my o2 sensors? ? someone told me if i took them off i would get more power?? thanks for your time ldb ![]() |

| it will help with power/though you will have loss in low end torque. dont expect to pass emissions though. ---john

| I wouldn't necessarily suggest just welding in straight pipes. I have seen it done on a 95 M3 before and the result in sound was very un-European. Very tinny sounding, almost like a 4 cylinder. If you take out the O2 sensors, you will automatically throw a check engine light, and the car will also run inconsistently. Dado has this problem back in the day, sometimes his car would be the fastest normally aspirated M3 of the group, but other days he woudl easily be left behind. Typically the car ran very rich without O2 sensors. |

| If your car is FI then by all mean take the cat out. You'll get pretty good gain. If your motor is NA don't bother, it will only give you louder exhaust noise and will definately fail emmision. |

| yeah, i was thinking about it and maybe its not worth all the work... so im probably just gonna change my exhaust cuz i still have the stock one and i dont like it at all...
