This was post on the LS1 forums

In that article in 100 deg. day he ran 13.1s his best time in his bone stock M3 was a 12.75 @107+mph. His new best was with a 5K rpm launch and UDPs. "

Who would do burnouts in the waterbox and launch at 5k rpms if you had no slicks? probably being a skilled driver helped out too, but stock?? I don't think so. Maybe a few basic bolt on's.

in the scheme of things

Track was probably sprayed down with traction compound which definitly helps. Friend of mine ran a 13.5 at a track that was sprayed with traction compound in a stock 95 m3 except for intake

On a side note. There was a guy on E46 fanatics that had Shrick cams that ran 12.5s in his E46 m3.....wonder how much power they yeild

My point exactly. Obviously you did not get the jest.

I was referring to Big_sur's question on whether or not the guy was running slicks. OF COURSE HE WAS RUNNING SLICKS! Burnouts and high rpm launches don't serve any purpose on street tires. Do you think he can launch like that on street tires? Maybe you could learn something from him. Try reading post again - or shoot self please.

His mph is a little low for a 12.6 isn't it? Should be over 110mph?

But yeah, he definitely had slicks... it just grips from go.
