Yeah...they are serious. But, for that kind of money, I don't think i want to admit to spending it on a VW. At least not just ONE of them.

oh dont get me wrong i walked around one at the dealer about 30 times amazed that vw made such a creature, but 94k isnt exactly the way to step into the luxury catagory. id definately drive it though.

Compare it to the 760Li, except the Phaeton can go 202 MPH (not sure on Top Speed of BMW).

that phatoen is amazing

the v8 does 0-60 a notch over 6 i belive and the v-12 does 0-60 in under 6 ! not to bad for a i think a 4000lb luxury car. And yes the factory in wolfsburg, germany is almsot all glass. You can buy a phateon, watch them build it , then take it on a test drive on the underground track all in the same day ...damn wish i was german ! You dont see any american companies doing that 'ish

Eh...it still doesn't blow my skirt up. For that kind of money, there are better luxury cars with a better history of doing things right.

BTW, shoot me in the face with a bazooka if I EVER pay that much for a luxury car...$40 grand would be my limit. After that, it is not worth driving it yourself. You would have to hire someone to push all the buttons you just paid for in order to get your money's worth.

My only probelm with VW as far as the toureg TDI ( V10 turbo diesel) and the phatoen V12 is hat they need to be a little more sutle. The use of the 8-9 inch round "VW" symbol is what is turning the sales. Peopel in the US need to start buying cars on their merit, not on what the image of the company is.
