Well, it sounds like you're pretty set on the swap despite everyone's comments so go with it and make sure to give us lots of updates! I agree, there's no replacement for displacement, just don't complain when the bills start piling up . Don't forget s38's need to have their plastic timing chain guides replaced, chain tensioner, and a hardened Fahey crank hub is advisable before you even think of revving the engine hard. Valve adjustments are required at every 15K miles and engines over 130K miles will be likely be in need of a valve job. All that and you're still stock but it really is a marvelous engine. The problem is, you could just get an s54 powered z, roughly the same power NA, and you won't break the bank and destroy your car's resale value in the process. If you're just "thinking" about doing the FI, then I would hold off until you're actually ready to do it. Just my 2 cents.

| Oh no, I'm now actually sold against the swap, I was just saying that I didn't intend on reaching those 400whp NA. I'm sticking with turbo or even Eurosport PD s/c system.

| I have a 1991 e30 s38. This is a very extensive conversion but it all pays off at the end. If you want to see some pictures of my car take a look @ my web card @ www.bmwconversions.com. I have to say go for this conversion but get a professional to do it for you. It is not easy! |

| Cant see much in that video, except the speedo climbing to 100 ridiculously fast. It looked like he was taking his time on the shifts, but that jump from 60 to 90 or so was crazy.
