eagle talon performance

Ok so heres the story:

This kid I work with owned an Eagle Talon tsi before he bought his Solara. All he ever talks about is how his car was the greatest performance car in the world. The thing was bone stock and had like 76k miles on it with stock tires. He always says this "I loved my Talon because I could go 140 mph in it and because it had all wheel drive, I was taking off ramps at like 100mph" never once did he say his car was capable of doing this he always said this is what he was doing in his car. Now my question is: IS THIS POSSIBLE? in a stock talon with no mods whatsoever except for the factory turbo. All I need is one more person to tell me this guy is a tool and i'll be happy.

p.s. He also said it would take my M3 if he still had it because of the all wheel drive thing

There's always going to be people who don't know shit about cars, but talk like they do. Don't listen to him. A ****ing eagle talon could never compare with an M3.... Ever.... He couldn't take off ramps at 100. He also couldn't go 140 I think those P.O.S cars are governed for like 120mph at max.

good friend of mine owns a 92 talon with maybe 1500$ in it and runs 12 seconds easy.

btw, 95+ dsm turbos are governed at 135mph. so a speedo reading 140mph wouldn't be uncommon as speedos tend to read incorrectly at higher speeds. he could have been pushing the limit and seeing 140 on the guages.

The dtm engines are good until you REALLY want to go fast. I think they have around 205-210 hp stock. which is alright with all-wheel drive. there is a kid around here thats blown up like 5 of them. But I know a kid that beats the crap out of his like you wouldnt believe, and it still runs strong. its the trans that you have to worry about at stock boost levels. so, yeah, they are really fast until you want to runs 12's or better. then they are garbage. thats my $0.02.

My friend has an early model Talon on stock boost, or maybe 12 PSi (If that's stock anyways). It's pretty reliable from what I've seen. And the ride in it is pretty fun too. I heard that the axels have some problems though.

i think 97-99 dsms had some factory mechanical error where the rear differential would lock causing a major problem if ure speeding on the highway. otherwise, a 4g63 with just a boost controller can run 12's, but will have a dead engine soon after.
