Got a Question about a Part. ?

I know this isnt BMW related part, but my friend was trying to figure out what it is used for ? here is a link to the part

I emailed the person selling it, and this is what he wrote back.

Blocks off your throttle body so no heat goes in. The idea is that if you block this off the hot exhaust gas will not mix
with cool fresh intake air and will keep the intake manifold and charge
air cooler.

How can you do that?

It is blocked off below the throttle body. You remove the battery, intake hose, and throttle body elbow to get more room. From there it's hard to miss. In the long run your abel to remove alot of useless crap from the engine bay and free up some room and weight as well. We just though it was about time for a nice thing unit to be made with everything included.

From what I know, the EGR has to do emissions. What a normal EGR equiped car does is recirculate some of the unspent fuel from the heads/exhaust and shoots it back into the car to be burnt up and more environmental friendly. All this plate seems to do is lock out that recirculation. Mustangs have that.

i had this on my volvo wagon- what it does is take the hot exhaust and runs it into the intake to make the air warmer to warm the car up more quickly? weird I ripped off the pipe and got 50+ hp!!!
