What kind of paint for headlight housings? I'm planning on painting the housings of my new headlights for my Maxima (I know its not a bmw....) . I picked up a brand new set of the 2002-2003 Maxima headlights and Ive already gotten them open now I am just waiting to paint the housings and install Umnitza's Demon Eyes( yes I know some of you may have a problem with me doing this on a Nissan, just please dont flame me too badly ) Anyways Im stuck on what color and type of paint to go with and what kind of prep work to do. Most other people who have done it over at Maxima.org have used regular spray paint, most flat black and didn't do any prep work, just taped and sprayed. Is high heat paint really necessary? My car is black and I originally thought a gloss black would look best but everyone I talk to says flat will look better. I would really appreciate your opinions and thoughts on this subject...... Thanks, -Steve

Hey scho did you use a hitemp paint? Also what do you think woudl look better on a black car, gloss or flat black? Also, I am a member over at maxima.org and have been in contact with a few members who have done this to their headlights and they all seem to like the flat black better and most say hitemp isnt necessary. I just wanted to see what the dtm guys thought..... -Steve

So just a regular duplicolor or plastikote spray enamel should work fine? Heres how I am planning on doing it. Cleaning it with a plastic paint prep formula, a coat of adhesion promotor, then 4-5 light coats of paint. How long have you had yours done? I just dont want to run into bubbling or cracking problems down the road. Thanks so much! -Steve
