| Damn is all I gotta say. As much as I love my M Roadster, the 996 Carrera is just the best. I've test driven M3's and the rest of the Bimmer crowd, but no BMW out there has the tight feel of a Porsche. Damn these cars are awesome. So now I'm thinking of getting a Carrera maybe next summer. I'll probably keep my M Roadster though. Although I might not so I have more money to put down on this masterpiece. |

| Do yourself a favor and drive a couple older ones too. My 993 is much more raw and connected to the road then the 996 IMO, and the 964 Carrera's are even more so. They're also cheaper. And they're aircooled, so you pop the hood and have that big fan stickin out there looking cool, and they sound better...

| Man, I hated the 996 C2 and 996 C4S that I test drove. I am still of the opinion the only porsche worth getting is either the GT2/GT3 or a 1996-1997 TT. The C4 and C2 are way overpriced IMO for what you get ... |

| I think those cars look nice and all but it takes so much money to get a quick one...The price from model to model changes a great deal without a huge jump in styling...However they are nice cars...never driven one so thats just IMO. Just that I'd want someone to tell other then the back badge if it was a carrera over the boxer (sp?) like I said hey maybe there is more styling, not that knowlegde aboutable about the little things about them, so that my disclaimer hehe.

| Yep well they're f**** fast from the box. The 996 Carrera does the 1/4 mile in 12.9 secs, and the 0-100MPH in 10.7 secs. Now that's pretty impressive. Put a S/C on it, and you're at 460hp easily. I don't really like the C2 or the C4 either, too heavy and overpriced, but the 996 is ideal for me. And yes, BMW and Porsche are two different machines, but "There's No Substitute" lol. Porsche you are ready for take-off :-) |

| Ill tell you one thing, before I got mine I never thought a car could feel so reponsive and tight. I had a 99 C2 and I can only imagine how hard you can throw the C4 into the turns! at speeds of 120+ mph the car is rock solid, you have way more driver confidence with this (as opposed to my Vette!). Wish I still had mine, but I might pick one up again, this time with the beautiful aero kit. The car is not as powerful as Id like so Im leaning towards a C6 Z06 Vette. Its a good time to be in the market for one. Depending on the options you can get a low mile 99-00 with about 20K-30k miles starting in the low 40s if not better! And don't forget how good their resale is.
