Chipped E36 4Dr 1/4 times

Hi all,

Sorry for a question that has prob been asked too many times, but am a newbie to the site.

What good 1/4 mile times can be expected from a chipped E36 M3 4dr.

I drive a 97 M3 4dr with only a Dastec piggy back chip. Personal best of 13.89 1/4 mile. Makes 268Bhp on the wheels.

Wow!!!

That has to be one of the most amazing perofmance chips ever for you to lay down 268bhp.......at the wheels. A stock m3 puts out 240 at the crank with about a 15% loss to the wheels which would make it 204 rwhp. If your chip increases it to 268, that is appoximately a 30% increase over stock........are you sure you just have a chip???????


Edit: Just noticed that you are from South Africa. I am guessing your car has a Euro motor? That would probably explain the large hp numbers.

Thanks guys. Am very happy with the gains we got with my car.

Must admit. It did take us three days to map my car to the increases I got.

Stock power on my car was 238 at 7000Rpm.

Had a complete TNT E/System fitted on monday and am curious to see what the car will do after a remap.
