Sirius or XM Satellite Radio

For those of you who have it or plan to buy the service what are you planning or have?

Sirius for 3 reasons.

1. No commercials ever.
2. They just signed with the NFL
3. They are planning on broadcasting 4+ channels of movies, which doesn't really matter to me personally but for people with in car TVs its pretty sweet.

I got mine as a gift because my dad knows some executive and got a deal, but it transmits to my current radio so I didn't have to do any real work to put it in.

Having used the XM radio. I was very impressed. I would suggest the removable face that allows you to plug in to your home, office or even a portable unit.

XM also have had great success as a company. Which means they'll be around for a long time.

I have no experience with Sirius.

XM is a bigger company.

XM - 1.3million subscribers
Sirius - just under 300,000

Starting Feb 1st 2004 , all music channels on XM is commercial free. Monthly fee is cheaper. Weather and traffic channels are location specific. Alpine and Pioneer uses XM.

I got sirius just so that i could listen to Car Talk on NPR on saturdays. THe NPR channel on fm sucks where i live. Plus if you look at the programming, sirius has more Name brand stations like espn, the weather channel, NPR, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, ABC, Discovery channel. I have been extremely happy with sirius.
