break in period?

can someone please tell me what would be a good break in period for a remanufactured engine to a 98 540ia, and ehm what would it mean if when idle my rpm gague stays below way under 1k rpm.

When i got my 330, it had 1.5 miles on it. The salesman told me not to take it about 50mph for the first 100 miles, and not above 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles. Hopefully this might help you out a bit.

Don't push it for 1200 miles.

1200-1500 miles and kep the rpm below 1/2 of redline.

It means the car is running. My Subaru idles at 600 RPM. It's not uncommon to have a low idling car. If you aren't noticing surging or hesitation, and the engine is still running (not bogging out) then it's fine.
