Sport Compact Car's new issue

Everyone needs to pick up the new issur of Sport Compact Car. It has the Ultimate Street Car Challenge that is really sick. After seeing the issue with the EVO vs. Germany (Porsche,BMW, and AUdi) I have been very skeptical of their bias, but this issue is great. I am only halfway through the article, but they have a sick Ultimate GTR with a BMW V12 and Porsche 996 Transaxle. Another cool car from the first half is a Supercharged Dodge Viper GTS.

correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the 996 transaxle is stock eqip with the ultima(nick should know). the bmw v12 is def NOT stock. do you know if its the like the 5liter from the7/8series or the one they built for Mclaren


and oh yeah nick, what engine is going into your Ultima?


i was just thinking about what engines id want in an ultima and the two that came to mind were the bmw v12 from the mclaren and the AMG v12 from the pagani. but they probably cost half as much as the ultima itself. then again if you own an ultima, who cares

I am curious as to why they sent me februarys issue in december? Well I havnt read it yet, I will do that at work tomorrow.

Apparently the V12 was from a salvaged 840/50 and only cost the guy about $500. The thing I hate about the article is that it forces me to buy the next issue to find out what car wins.

You can go sit in a book store and just read it there if you don't want to buy it..Just a thought. Or get a subscription, saves a nice amount of cash that way.

thats gonna be FUN. ive done some research on those and theres an engine builder that makes the engines for ultimas and you can get some seriously ridiculous crate motors. small block should be cool though, not too huge but more than enough power.

any estimates on when the ultima will be done?
