which car to get????

ok guys eveyrthing is set and etched in stone just need the car now.....got my insurance check from the old lady who hit me...and my saving set up total of $7grand down payment for a car plus 1 grand for after buying mods, its down to a 1997 BMW M3 where my heart lies, or a 2004 dodge srt-4 . insurance is gonna be the same, got pops taken care of that im just paying gas and the loan payment plus maintance.

pros and cons
M3-cant beat the name prestige it has
SRT-4 it is a neon under all that undercover
M3- may get beat by a hair but is RWD and will out handle like no tommorrow
Srt-4 brand new with a waranty
M3-already takin the big plunge in depreciation.


there is alot to consider....my true passion is in bmw, although i really like the srt-4 it mashes test drove one 2x also driven the M3 man there is no better feeling than sitting in one. and knowing you have the power of ///M

Personally, the SRT-4 is an amazing car (Slap a Dodge Stage 2 or 3 on it and you can blow anything out of the water), but it's tiny as hell. IMO I'd get the M3 for space reasons alone.

Again, i voted for the M3.

Not because neons (SRT-4 rather), suck. But because, although fast as hell (very moddable). I think it would suck to drive on a daily basis.

I mean, i think most people agree that the M3 is a better looking car, the neon ain't much to look at. Thats an important thing, when your going to see that car in your driveway for a quite a long time. The interior, now assuming your going to have this car as your primary driver then you definately want a nice interior.

I don't care what you say, but the SRT4 interior blows. It pales in comparison to the WRX interior, which although spartan is very comfortable. The M3 however, is comfortable enough, I mean personally i think it definately could use some improvement (Coming from an A6, i probably expected more a 5-series level of comfort). But its definately WAY better then the Dodge.

As for power, the M3 is plenty fast. If you really need the extra power, the SRT4 will be faster for cheaper. However, thats a sacrifice i'm not willing to make. (If you want fast for cheap, get a salvage and drop in a chevy 572).

Overall, i like how the M3 leans more toward a GT type car (what the E46 basically is). It makes it a lot more friendly to drive everyday. As much as i'd like to have a stripped down, bare bones racer...i couldn't deal with it everytime i want to go somewhere.

wow couldnt have quoted it better....i dont think the srt-4 is that good looking...other than the front end looks plain. i was sure of my answer just needed opnions.

i actually voted for the m3 over there! i didnt even realize you were on this board, now i remember though

anyways, the only reason NOT to go with the bmw is for $$$ on maint. the srt4 is new and wont have too much to deal with and anything broken will be fixed by dealers.. the m3 will be alot to maintain.. thats the ONLY drawback
