| http://www.cnn.com/2003/SPORT/12/11/....ap/index.html " Schumacher won the first race of 600 meters in 9.4 seconds, with the jet 0.2 seconds behind. The jet won at 1,200 meters in 14.2 seconds, with the Ferrari 2.5 seconds back. In the final race of 900 meters, the jet finished in 13.0 seconds and the Ferrari was 0.2 seconds behind. " "GROSSETO, Italy (AP) -- It takes a jet plane to beat Michael Schumacher. An Italian Air Force fighter jet defeated Michael Schumacher's Ferrari 2-1 Thursday in three races down a military airport's rain-soaked runways. Schumacher's Ferrari F2003-GA proved to be a nose faster than pilot Maurizio Cheli's Eurofighter Typhoon in the first race of 600 meters. The plane then easily won the last two races of 1,200 and 900 meters. "It was an interesting experience," Schumacher said, adding that "there was a lot less pressure" than facing Formula One rival Juan Pablo Montoya. Cheli did not gloat over his victory. "Everyone is a prince or king in their own environment," the fighter pilot said......."

| um funny how traction isn't an issue for an aircraft that uses jet engines w/ afterburners, vs. the car. ![]() edit: I want to see the F22 go up against the euro fighter lol.. that's the only time I want an american "vehicle" to destroy a european one. ![]() Our avionics and electronics systems are soooooooo much more advanced than anything the eurofighter can impliment; that's why our 20+ year old F14 remains the current air superiority fighter, we keep updating it with weapons and radar systems that detect and destroy enemy aircraft before the bad guy even knows there's a plane ahead of him. The whole thing is over with before they see eachother, who cares about manuverability (in the case of the huge ass f14.) Anyways.. I'm off topic. ![]()

Of course you'd want to get it on a race circuit, but god it'd take you days to put a good lap together coming from what us mortals drive.. i'll take a drag race anyday. mmmmmm, you can almost hear it. ![]() |

| yes it would have been much different in the dry, the plane doesn't put it's power down through rubber/tires

The plane has no power going to the wheels, therefore traction in the wet is not an issue for it.
