Saw and sat in VW Phaeton just a moment ago.

So i was at my store, but a moment ago... see some weird lookin tail lights outside, so being the crazy car nut i am ( not having recognized the tail lights) i go outside to see WTF the car is.
Its a VW, i could only really tell by the HUGE badge that was adorned on the car in the center of the trunklid. Phaeton read the smaller badge. Interesting i thought to myself, so i look over the car. WOW this thing is FREAKIN HUGE, i think to myself... Then i hear a voice " GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY ".. As i turn around im thinkin to myself, MUTHA FUKER I OWN THIS SIDE OF THE STREET. It was one of the guys who was delivering the car, he was obviously joking around... so we talk about the car, he cant get over the fact that the car is FAST, and the seats move in ANY position you want... so we talk some more, i got to sit inside. The interior is pretty damn well appointed, the seats are comfortable.. Heated as one would expect, the W12 is pretty silent, weird sounding but at the same time its kinda nice. the guy opens the back doors up. OMG the rear is HUGE, You get your own temp. cluster in the back etc etc.... the rear passenger seating arrangment is absolutely HUGE ( so big infact i had to mention it twice )... its lines are pretty nice, THE CAR IS JUST JACKED UP SO HIGH, im really impressed with this car from VW, although a rebadged audi it maybe.

I am expecting to see some more press cars, hopefully a nice BMW

I'm sure that a lot of ppl here would answer no to that question, but the Phaeton isn't marketed to younger people.

Sure it's super nice but it's all about image for most people. Who the hell would buy a $75k VOLKSWAGEN when you could have a 745i, S 500, or A8 for equal price. You know there are still going to be people saying "oh, it's only a VW, who gives a shit"

i think vw may have done better if they put it under the audi badge. i've heard good things about it, that it can hang with the big boys of the other manufacturers (i.e. mb s-class, bmw 7 series), but as all of you have already stated, 75k for a vw?!?

i guess they're hoping that it will serve as an alternative to the previously mentioned cars.
