| aa track pipe hey guys im gonna need your advice on a few questions if you wouldnt mind helping me out a little bit. Im considering buying the aa track pipe since it has recently gone on sale for about $610 for my 99 m3 but dont know if im really going to get any power gains out of it. Some people say thats its a waste of money and i wont feel any difference at all. And others say that i would feel a significant amount of power gains with my engine mods that ive done already (Check my sig for the mods i have). Please let me know if im wasting money on this part. thanks for your help ![]()

| To me, all those mods just arn't worth it. I mean 600 for a track pipe, 500+ for an exhaust, 300+ for a chip...honestly, how much hp do u gain? Instead of buying this and that to slowly increase the power of my M3, i'm just gonna save for an SC.

Euro Headlights and HIDs are also an excellent upgrade....stock headlights are no where comparable to euros with hids, or even euros alone! |

| What about an OBDII to OBDI conversion, in the long run, that will probably help any performance mods add more power..... whats the going rate on one of those conversions anyways?

| I thought you couldn't make as much power with the OBDII, that modifications made twice as much power on a OBDI motor (the 3.0) So wouldnt it be more expensive to make just as much power?

The big difference between OBDI and OBDII is the ability to easily tune the car. The reason you can get more hp out of OBDI cars is because you can easily tune the car to the best power. That said, most cammed OBDI and OBDII cars make the same power. If you are building a badass street motor then go for it. But for with the Jim C. cam kit and AA/Eurospeed doing custom obdII tunes and socketed obdII chips, there really isn't a reason to go OBDI anymore. Yes an AA track is a straight pipe from the headers to the cat, but it utilizes a resonator to quiet the car down.
