I've been putting pics there forever and saw these, I remember it was posted a while back, I named it GTR for a reason, i'ts definitely not a CSL but was it some special type M3 that was produced or?? the pic is from more than a year ago.

I believe that car is a one of a kind from a few years ago - They put a version of the 8 cyl. engine in it similar to the ones being raced (before the production rule came into effect).

But I could be wrong?!

M3 GTR for the street.

Yup, that's the street version of the M3 GTR. In order for BMW to run the V8 M3 GTRs in ALMS and LeMans the car must technically be based on a street vehicle. They made just a few of these to comply to the race regulations.

Where can you get the V8 GTR engines? I was thinking of a project/track car to build in a few years using the GTR engine, but don't really know where I could find one, other than PTG and I doubt they would sell.

Probably not going to be able to find a GTR engine. They were all developed for the PTG race cars and those 5 street versions. You can get an S52 (e39 m5 V8) for about 18K though.

S52 is the E36 M3 3.2L I-6. The S62 is the M5 V8.
