Nurburgring!

hey everyone, I'm heading over to the famous Nurburgring track in November. Any tips on how I can make the best of it? Never been there before so any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Buy "F1 2002"(published by EA Sports). Download the "GT Racing 2002" Mod. Download the Nurburgring racetrack map. Buy a high quality wheel. Do the map 200+ times. That should be sufficient preparation.

F12002 is fine, but F1Championship would be better. The Nurburgring is available for both, in all its glory.

God I hope they put Nurburgring in GT4 would be nuts!!. Btw what car you going to be driving, yours or you going to rent a better one?

SCC took the evo8 over there and one sub-article showed an m5 "taxi" where some professional racecar driver(woman i think) will take up to 3 people around the track...sounds like fun

I was there two summers ago. Did the loop in the Audi A6 wagon we rented. Obviously its a great time; however, you must watch yourself. Since it is technically a toll road, all kinds of people are on it: fast, slow, crazy. Prepare to be passed by cars going twice as fast as you; don't try to keep up, since you probably don't know the 85 turns too well.

edit: videos haven't worked for awhile, I got them two years ago, but the site has much info otherwise.

I suggest viewing the lap videos on this page, as I did before I went. They will do two things for you:



1) Get you extremely excited about your trip, and
2) Allow you to familiarize yourself with the 13 miles of track.

Have fun, and allow an entire day for the track. Also, if you are coming from the North, by Koln, once you get off the autobahn, the road going to Nurburgring is excellent. Twisties, bikes speeding by, just great.

She is Sabine. The Ring Taxi is a good thing to do, but you must book well in advance, like months even.

Yeah I had a movie downloaded of a white M5 taking people for a lap, being chased by a 911.....

It was freakin real cool to see how well the M5 handled when pushed to its limits, I must have watched the movie like 50 times, they were going so fast!! Have fun over there, wish i was you

I had one of the Zakspeed Viper (this car OWNED that race) going around in the 24 hours of Nurburgring.......I don't think they had a full lap though.

thanks for the feedback...i'm getting pumped up the more I read the comments.

As for the vehicle of choice, I work for an auto manufacturer, so I think my colleague will get me a car. I think I'll be staying on the right hand side for most of the 13 miles
