$700 for labor????????

okay here's the thing. I want to get H&R sport springs w/Bilstein sport shocks installed on my Bimmer, only problem is that I got a bs quote from the Bimmer dealer. They're telling me it's a 7 hour process, at $104/hr.........bs bs.....
what have you guys/gals paid for this installation?

**** in aye hole, no ways. Run away. 4 hours max job. Find a cheaper place. Open the yellow pages and find a BMW specialist. Otherwise, move away from IL, buy your own tools, or never again buy aftermarket parts. WOW, thats crazy.

That sounds a bit rediculous to me...A friend of mine works full time at a dealership and guesses it would take 4 hours for somebody good to install that for you (for $104 dollars an hour I sure would hope they're good). So try checking around at other shops, 104 an hour seems pretty high.

Why not do it yourself. Cars are very simple machines, it would not take you more then a day to do it. PLus you feel much better once you know that it was your hands that did it.
