My first wtf-do-I-do-about-my-wreckless-speeding-ticket thread!!

I'm sooooo pissed, I was driving back from a party to pick up some girls and I took a wrong turn.. got lost for a little while, found my way back and dipped out. I hit Bradddock road (watch out for this thing) and I slowed down, I come up slowly to this white intrepid and I saw a guy in the passenger side.. he slows down and changes lanes to go behind me.. must have changed a few times, he was always right next to me. Once he got behind me again I punched it, got up to about 95, and I see his headlights flashing.. thought he was flicking his high beams at me.. then I see the blue strobes also.

Anyways, this is my first ticket of any kind. I'm going to take a driving class before my trial date on Nov. 17th, and my brother is a good lawyer in DC.
He said he paced me at 80 in a 45 (must have been before I downshifted to get away from him.)

There's a good chance that I will run into him on campus, he's actually George Mason Police.. so possibly I can explain that I thought he was messing with me and I don't like headlights up my ass, possibly he won't show up if we talk about it.

After the class the courts can give me 1 point, in light of my good driving record I don't see things being too bad, but still.

Insurance won't change till they give out points in court, right?

I would just say that the guy in the white intreped waved a knife at me or something, and that i was just trying to put some distance between me and him. Or you could just say that your werent speeding, and he didnt get a accurate pace on you and he cant prove it.

In Virginia they don't need to clock you, they just have to see it on the radar. I just got a ticket like this one.

being paced is simply your word against his. The best you can do is try to obtain the last time at which his speedometer was calibrated, i believe it has to be done atleast once a year if not every 6 months. Beyond that see what your brother can do, and maybe talking to the cop wouldnt be a terrible idea.

Explain to them that you were driving an M3 and there was no way an Intrepid could have paced you.... let alone a burst of acceleration to 80... Then again you'd be arguing a bad point
