turbo and supercharger are forced induction.

maybe a TON of engine buildup mods and nitrous.
-----> cheaper way: transplant m engine.

the main thing holding your car back would be its exhaust. E36 323's have very restrictive exhausts, moreso than the regular 3-series (right?). So you could go with a supersprint cat-back exhaust system, a cold-air intake, and an M50 intake manifold from eurospeed performance. Also, it would be a nice upgrade to get a 3.15, 3.23, or 3.38 LSD. Maybe with all of these mods you MIGHT be able to hang with a stock E36 M3, but then again maybe not.

hope this helps

while most of that is true, its not the exhaust from the cat back that blows, its the single outlet cat itsself. You'd need to get an M3 cat, M3 aftermarket exhaust, CAI, and LSD. The M50 kit for the M52B25 isn't availible because alex needs a car to prototype it on.
That said, his car is an E46, so to see any sort of real gains, he should consider a supercharger.

Turn it into a 328
The 323, 325 and 328 all have the same engine block. If you just change the headers (? - correct me, if I'm using the wrong word here - not my first language) to 328, you'll have a 2.8liter. Then you put the 325's whatchamacallit (damn, I suck when it comes to those words, you know, that thing the air enters the chambers through. Basically the last part of the "intake" before the actual engine) on it and put the whole M3 exhaust system on it.

With new electronics, that should give you about 220 - 230HP

I hope my post was understandable, I can't believe I didn't find a single translation for that stupid word

no the m3 exhaust wont bolt on because if you look at your exhaust you have a y-pipe that turns your cats (single pipe) into a dual outlet after your cats. M3s have a dual outlet system all the way back. You would need to replace your cats in order to add an m3 exhaust.

that's what i'd go with, and they can be pricey, esp. if you're not willing to do your own install. You could probably get it done, with install for 7k, maybe 5500 if you installed it yourself.
