| '91 and '91 non-VANOS engines both have 240/240 cams. They have identicle dual=spring valvetrain as well. '93-'95 325i/525i has cylindrical valvetrain, while M3's have conical valvetrain. You cannot put VANOS cams in a non-VANOS motor, and vice versa. To have hot cams on a non-VANOS, remove both cams. Put the stock INTAKE cam (240*) in place of the exhaust cam. The reason for doing this is because, even though both of the stock cams are 240*, the intake has higher lift (9.7 vs. 9.0), so you want the 9.7 lift cam as the exhaust cam. Buy 1 Schrick 252* intake cam so that you have a 252/240 setup with high lift on both.

| thats pretty decent, but what would the non vanos M50 make with the exhaust/schrick cam install? lets say the engine has intake and exhaust and is running well. p.s. what do we make at the wheels stock? Last edited by fuuukaiai : 10-06-2003 at 03:57 PM. |

| So, which have we agreed upon to be better, Vanos or non-vanos? And how much do M3 cams cost?
