Carbon Fiber Hood / Clearcoat

Need some advise I just bought a carbon fiber hood.
Was told by the seller it would be better I clear coated it.
I am going to do 2 coats. Just wanted to know what involved in clear coating a CF hood.
The shop that's doing it for me is charging me $250 for 2 coats.
The guy said he will have to wet sand it and stuff. Any advise.? I don't want the hood to get messed up.

The CF already has a "clearcoat" on it which is resin. Over time it will chip and pit though

I used P.U. clearcoat on the cf pieces I made but they don't need an extra coat to be shiny or anything. Might be better to have it don to avoid geting the P.U. coat chipped.

get the UV protection coat, i heard w/o it, the resin could yellow over time
