Anyone else have a brake dust problem?

If I clean my ride and then drive a few miles I already have dust on my wheels. Is it the stock pads that create all this dust? It kinda suck to have a clean car with dirty wheels...oh well I still love my "M"

yea i had it on the 95 m

i just washed it (the whole car) once a week and didnt care for it in between.

Yep that's definatley normal. Pick up some degreaser at your autoparts store and it will make cleaning them a bit easier. I usually clean my wheels every other day. Do a search and you'll find a ton of info on alternate brake pads and other remedies.

i switched to axxium ultimates they have much less dust and work just as good in my opinion definatly saves me the cleaning time i used to clean them every other day with wheel cleaner and once a week with a full car wash

Never ending battle. If I'm driving everyday, they get cleaned on my Sunday wash day. For BimmerfestEast, I cleaned them Saturday and then wiped with clean again on Sunday when I got there.

i clean both family E34s almost each week, defenattly atleast one and the dust is allways there the next day...

i have pagid pads on both cars and its a never ending story ...

part of the reason that i want gunmetal rims is because u cant see it AS MUCH

It definately builds up quickly...but i'm a bit crazy when it comes to cleaning my car. It never really gets "dirty" just a little dusty before its wash time again

ProSeries "Simple Green" Auotomotive Degreaser. It works like a champ.

the wheel acid at my the dealer my pops works at. works well to, you just cant leave it on for to long.

I think you can get it in a autoparts store even though suposedly its a health hazard or something.

changing the pads will help the most.waxing the wheels helps the dust come off alot easier as well.

Mine have gotten soo bad that the driver side rim is stained. No matter what I do to it, the dirt will not come off. I will have to send my rims to "RimPro Inc." They were at BFE03 and they will get your rims back to new for $160.00 So they say. I guess I'll give them a try. They told me about using wax but I have to get the stain out first. But at least I can use the wax on the other rims.

yah ive got the same problem. ive seen this black plastic like cover that goes inbetween the brake rotors and the back of the rim. even tho it didnt look cool, the rims were clean. anyone know what im talkin about or seen this before?

Ceramic brake pads make hardly any dust at all.
