Custom E30 Exhaust Question...

i was just wonderin if any of you have heard of any1 doin a single pipe exhaust conversion for an e30 2.6...i am thinkin of gettin a high flow cat with 2-1, then doin 2.5inch single all the way to the back with a performance muffler...would this be better, or worse for performance? the stock pipe size is what...1.75"?? thanks for any info.
