the only way to do it is what i did.. have the car go on the family insurance, then claim that your father is the primary driver-- but this means you are still insured 24/7.

expect 200/month at least- with a cleanish record

Don't get an M3 for your first car. 1) Insurance will be outrageous. 2) It'll be too powerful, also. Wait until your 18, or maybe even 17 and a half.

I got my '92 325i in my sophomore (16years old @ that time) in high school. I payed $1800 every six months with Geico and still do today (w/ 1 ticket $430). I'm 19 now so my insurance should go down about $200 when I'm 20

I was looking for a m3 also, but i got a 325is, the insurance on that is 2000 a year. 17 yr old male with clean record and good student discount. Now I have something to look forward to (next BMW) and since the resale on my 325 is shit, I can keep it forever...

Ya, my dad put the car under his name, it's a lot cheaper that way. Although, i'm not sure if the 330ci is considered a sports car... is it?

Just got dropped from state farm. Had 4 speeding tickets and 1 failure to obey stop light. Complete bullshit. I was going 25mph in a 25 because i slowed my roll so i get no more tickets. Well then i get one for running a red light which just turned before i went over the line. I had no time to stop. So now my new insurance is 2200 a year.
