What cars are trouble for 99' E36 M3?

I was just curious as to what cars give trouble to the 99' BMW M3 in a race? How do cars such as the WRX, S4, and how about the new 1.8 T or the R32 when it comes out? Thanks again.

Pretty safe to say an M3 will lay waste to a stock 1.8t... but once APR gets their hands on it...

After being out for almost 9 years.. the E36 M3 would probably manage to tie with most of the current cars (coupes/roadsters/sport sedans) anywhere near it's current resale value price. (S2000, G35, 350z, non-sti wrxs, etc etc etc.)

Just remember it's cheaper to mod those cars and come out with higher hp #s than it is with our cars (or any bimmer for that matter

)

I'm not as worried anymore with the 3.46 going in on top of what I already have

im pretty sure an S4 would hand an m3 its ass... stock for stock

Top speed isn't going to be that bad on my car. With my wheel/tire setup, I will be limited to 150mph. As for MPG, I drive my nissan of doom everywhere. M3 is mainly for weekends, I intend to track the hell out of it too

the 00-02 S4 speed wise is the same as the E36 M3. Their not fast at all. The 04 S4's are fast but not as fast the E46 M3's yet

Thanks for the responses, I'm currently selling my WRX for a 99' M3 with 50k miles in pristine condition. After getting my ass handed to me several times by M3's and getting a ride in one I must say they are not only fast cars but awesome handling as well.

THe only draw back to the M3's is the holes it leaves in your pockets as you try to make it faster and faster..........Remember that the E36 M3 has been out for a while and can still manage to compete w/ some of the new cars comming out,

However if you think your M3 is not fast enough and want to make sure it is the fastest, then send it to Active Autowerke.....I'm pretty sure they'll make it so you'll be able to dust all cars on the hyghway.......

E36 m3's arent that fast, there all about handeling(just like about every BMW) there only fast in the curves and bends, eruope doesnt make drag racing cars and if you turn a very nice asfault carver like BMW, Audi, VW Gti, or a porsche, or any damn car meant for tearing it up in the bends your stupid.

And this coming from someone who says he drives an E21 320i.

What's with the BMW on BMW hate?

And being fast entails more then just straight line performance.
