friend got a speeding ticket

hey sup guys my friend bought a 2000 camaro z28 yesterday and we were testing it on the freeway and he maxed out on 155 MPH and when we hit the exit we saw the blue and red lights flashing behinde us. yes yes thats right my friend got pulled over the cop didn't get his speed in the radar but when he asked my friend how fast he was goin he said 140 and the cop put 140 in the ticket could his license get Suspended or do you know what could happen to him next

your friend is a moron... you dont ever tell a cop you were doing something wrong. Now if and he should, go to court, to protest it, the cop remembers the fact that your friend admitted to going to 140MPH, your friend just incriminated himself, and will likely recieve points, and potentially reckless driving charges.

Get a good lawyer... and remember, if a cop asks you how fast you were going, say something like "last time i looked 65 (in a 65 zone) officer."

I gotta agree with fastrook, your friend is screwed... get a REALLY GOOD lawyer, I have no clue how is he going to get out of this one otherwise. Your friend might even have a tough time finding a lawyer to take the case... there is simply no reason why anyone would be going that fast.

I got pulled over once doing 160 on the NY Thruway. ****ing Camaro pursuit cars. He actually pulled me over when i was doing 130 but when i flew by him i was doing 160. No points and no ticket. Why? Gave him tickets to the Giants Yankees game. :-D

Your friend is screwed, a lawyer can't even help you now. He admitted it at 140, they could suspend his license and for sure give him points. I don't understand why the **** you were going 155 in the first place? Is it really neccessary? But I'm not your father, so just hope for the best, all I can do say good luck.

Why do 155 are you nuts. Because its fun....these sort of questions are having to come from people much older than me for sure. If I could do 180mph in a car I would do just so I could say I did it. No reason and no its not neccessary but I only have that devil on my shoulder it seems like.

Why would he honestly tell the officer how fast he was going?

yea I was going 142MPH the other day at night, on a 55 zone, heheh that was a hell of a rush.

Yeah dude, never tell the cop how fast you were going. But try not to blatantly lie about it too. The fastest i've gone is 137 in a 55.

He's screwed as everyone has stated... never tell a cop that you were doing anything more than 25 miles per hour above the speed limit. In ATL, they just get behind you turn their blues on until you slow down... then they go right past you. They have better things to do I guess. That happened to me this past weekend doing about 90 in a 65.
