Is an 89 325is 3.73 differential the same as an 89 525i 3.73 diff?

what i need to know is are they easliy swapped or are they totaly different because of the series? I am looking at buying a 3.73 LS differential from a guy that had it in his 89 325is. It has 110k on it and he says is in perfect condition. Would it be smart to buy and would it fit properly without modifying?

I am pretty sure they are the same thing. And that the 325is manual came stock with 3.73. So if you buy another 3.73 its not really going to do you any good. I hope that helps
