Question 99 Mcoupe vs. 97 M3 coupe??????????

So I was just wondering which is faster and by how much?

Anyone have the 1/4 mile and 0-60 accel times for both. Like really accurate.

Cuz I just saw a website that said the M3 Seda weighs 150 more then a Mcoupe and it slower by .3 seconds......

just me or kind hard to swallow?

No, they are like an ///M Roadster with a roof....

The 99 Mcoupe ran the same 3.2l as the 99 M3...

I'm not saying better.... I'm saying they have the same engine.

The numbers say faster.... in a straight line.

M-Coupe is currently the BEST HANDLING BMW ever made.

By performance figures, the M-Coupe is a better car then the E36 M3. Especially when you get into the S54 powered version.

Yep. My dealer refers to the M Coupe as "the most fun car on the planet." After driving one, I have to say that they are right. The stock 99 M Coupe I thrashed felt faster than my 220 whp/ 220 tq E36 M3 (pre-3.46), and its handling felt comparable to my M3 which was spanked on its coilovers at the time.

The only thing I detest about the M Coupe is that I couldn't fit into one. Otherwise it would have been mine.

...but it still look like a shoe. The shifter is probably the best part for me, it feels very much like it already has a kit on.

The M Coupe uses the e30 rear suspension which is not as advanced as the e36's multilink rear. The e36 is a lot easier to drive at the limit.

ive driven my dads 02 m roadster waayy too much, and after that I can say that the steering on both the 02's and the 240hp version(he had that one before, was fun as hell) is extremely light and go-kart like. I remember it was just so sensitive, that it made the car a blast to drive, effortless cornering or so it gave one the impression.

not everyone is into the M Coupe's styling, but I like it. There isnt that much of a aftermarket support for body styling, at least not as much as there is for the E36.
