Battery is dead....HELP PLEASE!!!

Ok, so my sister was driving my car two nights ago to get some food. Upon returning back to the car she found that it would not start. So she called me and from what I could tell was that the battery seemed dead. So she had the car jumped and it worked fine. When she returned she turned off the car to check if it would work if she turned it back on. It didn't. Now I live in Phoenix, AZ and I know the heat can kill batteries quick over here. I have a '95 525i and it says in the manual that the battery is located in the passenger rear seat. Now, should I take out the seat and replace the battery or do I just jump the car again and let it run for about an hour? If anyone has answers please help me. I will greatly appreciate it if you can help me save my baby....Thanks in advance!

i would guess the alternator could be at fault here... rather then find out the hard way you might as well take it to a mech, or to like a pep boys or something ... usually the chain auto stores will do a free check to see what the prob is...

If it jump starts and it works fine, it is not the alternator. The alternator works fine because it makes enough juice to run the car once on. I would get a new battery. How old is the battery? Even if you add water to the battery, you will not be able to revive the battery, so get a new one.

hey it worked for me once, car wouldn't start and it jump started fine but all i did was add water and it works fine now

It sounds like the battery. Once you jump start the car the alternator runs most of all the power it needs to run as well as regenerating the battery, if the cells are still holding the charge. The battey is only use to start the car and for some auxiliary equipment.
But just get it checked out before you buy anything.

was it raining or wet out, maybe one of the wires is a little stripped and water got in there. water conducts electricity, and when you get water on a open wire it will drain the battery

I say. get NEW battery .. ? but thats my opinion.. how old is this battery ? best bet woudl just get new Battery, save the time and future jumping .. Alternator is fine, if car started up once.. so just save the trouble of future jumps, and stalls.. ehhe get a new battery..
