| how much money for a 97 stang to outhandle a 99 m3?? A good friend of mine has spent about $1,000 in aftermarket suspension components for his 97 mustang cobra... he told me that the 99 m3 (ill soon be getting) wont be able to keep up with his stang...Now im not really sure, but even with $1,000 in suspension mods, would he smoke me in the twisties? Not exactly sure what all he has, use ur imagination and decide what you would spend 1k on... THANKS! |

| The M3 possesses uncanny roadgoing ability. This is the most-agile car here. The steering eagerly bites into corners and is alive with feel… Even at the hairy edge of traction, the M3 is accepting of further driver input, which builds tremendous confidence. Unlike the Acura NSX, the Dodge Viper, or even the Ferrari F355, you feel free to explore the M3's limits without fear that something awful awaits if you miscalculate. | You still have weight distribution on him, and other qualities that are only available when the car was first designed. There is only so much after market parts can do - it all builds on the ogirinal car's design; in this case, one that isn't anything close to yours in the handling department.

| Anything can be made to out-handle something else. You could completely redesign the suspension of a Mustang and put that in there with enough money. Hell, they have Mustangs running around against M3's in GT races and stuff... but the M3's are always still ahead. ![]()

| dont forget even a stock cobra has 300hp, so will definately get rolled in anything but tight turns. Not to mention the fact that Cobras actually handle pretty well for what they are...

| Well... are either of you professional drivers? Just wondering. If not... then I think it's who is more daring. The person more willing to push the limits (ie. risk destroying his car) will win!
