How many E46 M3s????

Hey all.
Does any1 know how man E46 M3s BMW will build..??is it true that the e46 will receive a new V8 engine...or will it remain like this untill the e90 (maybe) m3 replaces it in 2007 (also maybe)

BMW is in the business of selling cars so they will build as many as they can sell.
