If you use the search, you can find many people's reviews. It seems that the Potenza S0-3's are pretty popular. I personally go for the cheapest, because cheap is the right price for me

Nothing but Pilot Sports.

S03s stick better, but less forgiving.

The new goodyear tires are the only way to go.

They have no center line grooves at all.. so they lay down a lot of power. They stick really well, yet have the highest tread rating of any max performance tire on tirerack.com ..also the higest wet/dry/noise so that's also impressive. They are a full $50 less than the S03s last time I checked. These were 205 each for 255/35/18.

Definitally go to tirerack and research alot like I did. I have Toyo Parada's I think and I hate them for their noise. I am waiting to get my new control arms in so I can put on My new continental Extreme Contacts that smell so nice in my room.

I am on my second set of Kumho Ecsta Supras...

they are good quality tires that don't break the bank too badly...

The BEST mod you can do for the car besides the driver is tires. I don't understand why people spend thousands on aftermarket mods but skimp on tires. Go with GOOD tires. If you guys think the Ecsta Supras are good tires, you have not driven on other tires.

I would at minimum go with Yoko ES100's or Kumho MX's. I purchase new tires every 3-4 months, otherwise I would be getting Pilot Sports or SO3's as well.

Don't compromise on tires ... it makes a huge, huge difference.

This is my first post here.. I too don't understand why people skimp out on tires. I can understand saving a couple bucks for tires, but why get the crap ones?

Back to the thread topic, sorry to jump in on it - but I'm looking for a set of tires myself. They're going on my mom's 98 740il. We have Bridgestone Touranzas or somethin on there, and they wore out in about 22k miles. Wheelworks won't honor the 50k warranty either.

I'm going back to Michelins! Still searching, but does anybody know what the stock tires were from the factory on the 740? I'll probably check into these Pilots that people have been commenting on. Anybody know of some good deals?

My dad has a 98 740iL and he uses Pirelli P6000 sport Veloces, I think they are stock but I am not sure, great tires, and grip and tread, check them out.

Pilot Sports, we have them on our E38- and they're super (well, the many people who drive the car say so),

But I also do not understand why people go cheap on tires. Those four things are all that are keeping you on the road- I wouldn't skimp on them.

the reason i bought kumhos was because i was going through a set of rears every 4 months and $100 more per tire isnt exactly pocket change to me. I agree if you have the money definately go for the best tires. i love my moms pilot sports and on a track you can tell the difference but they're not worth an extra 100 per tire to me. besides breaking traction can be fun
