How does Sport Mode work?

On Z4, there is a button that lets you to engage in
Sport Mode. I wonder how does it work and what
does it give you.

it increases throttle response and sensitivity. its good for spirited driving but could make regular driving slightly rougher

i think it also doesn't let the auto trans shift into it's highest gear.

I mean in manual transmission. How does it work? What does
it give you. Would you add this function if you are going to buy
the Z4?

There is a manual sport mode? Or is this SMG? I have never heard of a sport mode on a manual...

M3 has a sport button in Manual. As said earlier, it makes the throttle more responsive. If you held your foot on the pedal and just hit the sport on, the rpms would jump a couple hundred...

Yup, and it's fun to see the difference when you engage it, atleast I think it is.
